One of the ways we continue to make The Collaroy Centre the perfect place to stay is through ongoing investment in comfort, cleanliness and the overall guest experience. This year, we completed one of our largest accommodation upgrades to date: a full carpet replacement across all guest rooms and key shared areas.
This project has been months in the making and represents a major step in our long-term commitment to providing warm, welcoming and well-maintained spaces for every group that stays with us.
What the upgrade included
Across the Centre, every accommodation area received new, top-quality carpet, including:
- 30 hotel rooms
- 10 deluxe rooms
- 50 bunk-bed rooms
- 10 cabin common rooms
The result is a modern, cohesive and calming look throughout our accommodation, replacing worn areas with fresh, soft flooring that immediately lifts the feel of each room.
Why it matters
Carpet might seem like a small detail, but it makes a significant difference to comfort and atmosphere. The new flooring:
- Improves hygiene and cleanliness
- Softens noise and reduces echoes
- Creates a warm and welcoming environment
- Modernises older spaces with a contemporary finish

Four months of coordinated effort
This was a true whole-team achievement.
Over approximately four months, the installation was carefully coordinated across:
- Maintenance – scheduling trades, managing disruptions and ensuring a seamless rollout
- Reservations – organising room availability and minimising guest impact
- Housekeeping – preparing rooms and supporting the transition
- Leadership – managing the project as a capital investment and overseeing quality
The project required constant communication, planning and teamwork to complete without interrupting the busy schedule of camps and events that run year-round.

One of the most significant is already moving through approvals, and once it’s announced, it will be one of the most exciting developments the Centre has seen in years.
