Mission meals: Supporting care through financial partnership

At The Collaroy Centre, mission impact doesn’t always look like something happening onsite.

Sometimes, it’s quieter. Behind the scenes. And just as important.

One of the ways the Centre has supported the Salvation Army’s mission over the past six months is through a financial partnership with Stanmore House that helps fund essential meal services for people doing it tough.

This support reflects our belief that providing dignity, nourishment and care is a foundational part of community wellbeing.

Why meals matter

For individuals and families experiencing hardship, access to a reliable, nutritious meal can be life-changing.

A shared meal can mean:

  • stability during a period of uncertainty,
  • relief from financial pressure,
  • a sense of being seen and supported,
  • and, in many cases, a vital point of connection with further services.

Meal programs are often one of the first touchpoints for people seeking help, and they play a crucial role in broader pathways of care, support and recovery.

How The Collaroy Centre contributes

Over the past six months, The Collaroy Centre has provided direct financial support to help fund more than 1,000 meals delivered through a Salvation Army-aligned meal initiative.

This contribution forms part of our dedicated mission-support budget, which exists alongside the Centre’s broader financial contribution to The Salvation Army’s national mission work.

By contributing financially, the Centre helps ensure these services can continue operating consistently and sustainably, reaching people who rely on them during some of the most challenging moments of their lives.

A shared commitment to care

As a for-purpose Centre, The Collaroy Centre operates with a clear understanding that our work extends beyond camps, conferences and accommodation.

Every booking made onsite contributes to something larger. Revenue generated through school camps, retreats, events and community programs enables the Centre to reinvest in initiatives that align with The Salvation Army’s mission of care, compassion and practical support.

In this way, guests may never see the meals being served, but they are part of making them possible.

More than a venue

We often describe The Collaroy Centre as more than a venue, and this partnership is a clear example of what that means in practice.

When organisations choose to bring their people here, they’re not only creating moments of connection, learning and growth for their own communities, they’re also helping extend care to people they may never meet.

That’s mission in action. Quiet, consistent and deeply human.

As we continue into 2026, The Collaroy Centre remains committed to supporting initiatives that meet real needs, strengthen community and reflect the values at the heart of The Salvation Army.
